Floor stand question........ |
Lead | ||
|
I have been looking at the floor stands and I need some answers if someone can help me. Since Martina's designs are large and I have to sit in a recliner I
need one that will work with my chair. Does anyone have the scroll system for the System 4? If so I really would like to talk to you in depth about it.
Thanks for your help Mary E

I know several stitchers do, Mary. In particular Thutmosis (Dana) I know for certain does and absolutely loves her System 4. I remember her saying that she
wishes she had bought the larger scroll head specifically because of stitching Chatelaines. If she doesn't come along and post here, it would be worth
messaging her directly.

Someone say my name?
I love, love, love my System 4! I am kicking myself for not getting the 40" head....what was I thinking? Send me a message if you have any questions....I highly recommend it, especially for those larger projects. Dana

Another Frame to look at | #5 | ||

I recently got a lap stand from Hearthside Crafts and the quality and price were very reasonable. They have a floor stand that is designed to go over
wheelchairs and recliners. It has wheels as well. It's worth looking at. I know it is on my wishlist for next Christmas

I use mine with my recliner foot up. I have it to the side of the foot and work on the side of the piece that's in front of me - I swap to the other side
if I want to work on the other side - not so good I guess if you jump from side to side often.
I have got an extender bar and can use it in the centre with the foot up with that attached, but I found it quite cumbersome to work with. The other option if you want your feet up (which I always do) is to have a separate footrest that you can place beyond the stand. Amanda |

I am still trying to configure "The ultimate setup". In doing so I have accumulated three of the top four stands already and the last one is on the
way. It gets very expensive. I too have a recliner and wanted a stand that would work with a recliner. Out of the top 4 (in no particular order) mind you, this
is my top four list: Lowry, Ergo, Mark 2, and System 4; the first three work with the recliner. Keep in mind if you want a stand to hold the scroll bars (or
q-snaps) from both sides (Mark 2 and System 4) or just from one side (Lowry, Ergo). And the Lowry needs to be weighted down (counterbalanced) with the chair or
sofa you are sitting in. I don't know about the Ergo because I don't have it yet.
The funny thing is I usually sit on the couch with my legs crossed up under me. So probably just a lap stand or small q-snaps for me. But I need to have ALL the gadgets. Hope this helps, let us know what you decided |
