Getting the centre section beads to sit properly

Posts: 57 02/29/08 09:02 AM	Tags : None I know Martina had a couple of suggestions on how to get the beads to sit properly in the centre section. Is there anyone out there who can share their experience? Did you put beads on with a half cross or full cross? Posts: 13 03/01/08 06:26 AM	Are you using 32 ct. fabric? I never could get the beads to sit nicely on my 32 ct. Lugana and ended up using the alternative stitched center. If you're going to have any chance at all of getting them to fit you'll have to use a whole cross. And the Delicas, Mill Hills are too irregular. When and if I get Watergarden started I'm using 28 ct. Good luck with it; I found that was the most frustrating part of the whole piece. Posts: 57 03/09/08 12:45 PM	I am using the 32 count - and just about at the point where I stitch the centre because I'm so frustrated. I like stitching most thing better on 32 count, so I don't regret my decision to stitch on the smaller fabric. Cheers, Karin *The Sparklie Things Blog*

Posts: 17 03/10/08 04:03 PM	I'm using 28 ct, and am attaching the beads with a vertical ( \| ) thread instead of diagonal ( / ) or ( x ). Posts: 151 05/07/08 01:45 PM Enabler of Self and Others	Karin, I had a lot of heartburn when I was putting in those beads too. I used 32 count fabric. But I found that as I worked they kind of fit in together. I would just kind of lift the bead on the upper row up a little with my fingernail and slide it in. I started from the top and worked horizontally and used a full cross. It wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done, but they all fit in. In fact when I was getting toward the bottom, I really didn't think that I would fit them all in, but I did. The center was puffed out when I was finished, but when it was framed there was only a slight puff which I think enhances how it looks. Just keep with it and it should work out fine. I do have to tell you that I called my friend, Dianemi, and complained for about a week trying to get them in!
