In Medieval times, in Cloisters as well as in noble homes, people did not only want to plant vegetables and food, but they found pleasure and solace in beautifully walled gardens, protected from the view of other then the owners. There they raised scented flowers like lavender and roses and had small ways of walking from where they could see and watch their plants closely. This HORTUS here now can be stitched with various threads and fibers, embellished with beads and sparklies – and a LOT of Special Stitches to give dimension and texture. You will count, weave, wrap and embroider to create a tactile garden with tiny and detailed flowers and grasses….. Group begins June 2012 and ends May 2013.

Through the snow shepherds are trudging their ways, bringing home the animals. All this miracle is kept in this one picture, without any cutesy elements, just the stunning winterworld mountains.
